Some of the Finest Fly Fishing in the West
From your balcony you can look out over fabled Flat Creek fishery in the National Elk Refuge, where trout are wily and plentiful. The convenience of our outfitting shop, a mere five-minute drive from our doors, cannot be overstated. Add that to our Concierge team, (hot-spots-of-the-month a specialty) and a close relationship with WorldCast Anglers (top guides in the West), and you’ve got a fishing trip that satisfies all year long.
Join our resident Fly Fishing Instructor, Spencer Morton, a two time winner of the Jackson Hole One Fly and discover your talents or hone your existing skills. Classes are held every Monday and Thursday on the Casting Lawn from 5 pm to 7 pm during the summer season.
Grand Teton National Park
As Jackson's backyard, this magnificent place is no more than a twenty-minute drive north. From the entrance alongside the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center at the park’s entrance in Moose, a spectacular wilderness presents itself with expansive and tranquil lakes, beaver dams, secluded fishing holes and an array of wildlife that turns anyone into a photographer.
Yellowstone National Park
Snow King Hotel and Grand View Lodge are proud to be in national park country. Yellowstone National Park is one of the nation's most beautiful and most alive treasure lands, with its many geologic and thermal features. Spanning 3,500 square miles at the junction of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, the south entrance to the park is just an hour drive north of the Town of Jackson.
Thrilling Downhill Trails & Leisurely Pathways
Mountain Biking is action packed and a terrific way to explore Jackson Hole in the summertime. With miles upon miles of trails and bike parks, there is no limit to your options for biking enjoyment. And the town of Jackson is bike savvy, with Friends of Pathways bikeways that radiate across the Hole.
Wild & Wet or Relaxed & Leisurely
You can go big or you can go placid. The waterways of the West offer a full menu of choices from a guided wildlife-viewing raft trip at sunset in Grand Teton National Park to whitewater thrills at Lunch Counter and Taco Hole on the Snake River.
An 8-mile whitewater trip down the Snake River is sure to make you at least a little wet but exhilarated, too. A scenic float at the base of the Tetons is more laid-back, but the wealth of wildlife along the river could leave you just as breathless. Either way, time on the water is sure to leave a lasting impression. Check with our Front Desk team or Concierge staff to secure reservations and directions.
There’s a reason the locals always have on shorts and a hat. And that ubiquitous backpack? It holds hiking shoes or sandals, a water bottle and a rain jacket. Literally hundreds of trails crisscross the valley floor of Jackson Hole. Many are within easy walking distance and right outside the front entrance of Snow King Resort Hotel and Grand View Lodge. Grab your hiking shoes and snag a map, and you're on your way. Check with our Front Desk team or Concierge staff for directions to the trails of Snow King Mountain.
Where the West is Still Wild!
Brahma bulls, bucking broncos and a taste of the old West. Rodeo has been a part of Jackson Hole since the first settlers arrived, and no vacation to Jackson would be complete without experiencing the rodeo firsthand. Jackson’s rodeo grounds are a ten-minute walk from Snow King Hotel and Grand View Lodge, and the lassos fly every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer months.
Paragliding in Paradise
Fly with the eagles when you strap in for a guided paragliding trip off the tip of Snow King Mountain. A few running steps and you are airborne, seated in a comfortable chair harness, free to enjoy the awesome scenery and refreshing mountain air. All Jackson Hole Paragliding Tandem Instructors are experienced mountain pilots with excellent safety records. Our instructors know which buttes are hot with thermals when.
