Fall is a peaceful time in Jackson Hole. Without the summer crowds, you can enjoy the National Parks and great outdoors all to yourself. On those cooler fall days, Jackson’s Town Square is welcoming with restaurants, art galleries, theater, and shopping.
Outdoor Fall Activities
Elk Refuge View the elk as they migrate into the Elk Refuge just north of Jackson Hole in the late fall, their winter habitat.- The Changing of the Leaves
Hike and Mountain Bike along trails lined with the changing colors of Aspens and Cottonwoods. - Fall Arts Festival
A multi-day art fair in downtown Jackson, filled with photography, paintings, and crafts from the region takes place in early September. - Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks
Wildlife Expeditions and Photo Sarafis are a great way to see the parks in the Fall. Visitor centers are open until late September or early October. Roads close in late October. - Scenic Floats
Enjoy views of the Grand Tetons on a scenic flat water float along the Snake River until mid September. - Fly fishing
